McDaniel College Budapest

Health care
McDaniel students are required to hold a College health insurance policy unless they have private insurance. The College policy provides free care through the outpatient clinic of Semmelweis Medical University.

If a student feels unwell, he/she should contact Dr. Matthew Adamson, Director of Academic and Student Affairs at 06-30-548-9235. Matthew Adamson will provide directions to the outpatient clinic, or in case of an emergency, will escort the student to the clinic. A student may also go to the clinic on his/her own. It is located in the 12th district, Kútvölgyi út 4. and is reached by taking bus #156 from Moszkva tér, getting off at the Kútvölgyi kórház (hospital) stop.

Dr. Katalin Kádár is the physician who sees McDaniel students. Her office is located on the second floor in Room 201 and consulting hours are 8:00 a.m to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday. Dr. Kadar, who speaks English, performs the initial examination and then, if necessary, will send the student to a specialist in the clinic building. A pharmacy is also located in the clinic, and under the health insurance policy, students are reimbursed for the cost of medicine.

In addition, there is an on-call telephone service at which a physician on 24 hour duty can be reached: 06-30-982-6009
