Professor Smyth draws on his experience in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) for the British Council, and business English at Linguarama, as well as his role as examiner for the Cambridge ESOL exams for Oral Communications. As an active journalist who' s covered everything from breaking news and business journalism to writing opinion columns and travel guides, he transforms the classroom into an editorial newsroom, with students actively engaging in acquiring and sharpening the tools of the trade.
