Course description
This course is an introduction to the Hungarian language. The course will provide students with the basic skills in reading, writing and speaking in Hungarian at a beginner level.
By the end of the course students will be able to carry out basic conversations in a variety of everyday situations, both formal and informal.
In addition to classroom meetings, a number of fieldtrips are scheduled ,e.g. visiting a market , going to a café, etc.
During these fieldtrips, students will have a unique opportunity to practice Hungarian in a native environment and communicate in a broad range of everyday situations with locals.

Course Evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

Honor Code
Students are expected to adhere to the McDaniel College Honor code on all tests and other assignments.
Course Policies
Students are responsible for both attending the classes and actively participating in the discussions. During the semester, three unauthorized absences are permitted. In case of more absences, students grades will be lowered. There will be an in-class show and tell session and a final grammar test.
Note that the examination must be taken at the scheduled time.
