Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.
-Victor Hugo.

I listen without looking and so see.
-Fernando Pessoa.

Music makes one feel so romantic – at least it always gets on one' s nerves – which is the same thing nowadays.
-Oscar Wilde

So which is it? Is music the simplest, most direct connection to the heavenly spheres, or is it just a strange and unnecessary phenomenon of our everyday lives?

Here are some of the questions we will try to answer:
  • Can animals be better musicians than humans?
  • Do instruments have souls?
  • How traditional is traditional music?
  • Why do Native Americans avoid singing love songs?
  • How can you use a harmless dance to control your surrounding?
  • Why is it that humans all around the globe react in an identical way to a certain rhythmic pattern?
  • What do public performances say about the given society' s structure?
  • If you here a recording of a drumming performance, how will you know from which part of the world does it come from?
  • Why have we lost the sense of uniqueness when we listen to music?

Emerging in the world of music is a rewarding experience, which always opens many doors – the choice is yours!
