National Theatre
Attending "The Collected Works of Shakespeare - Abridged" is always a popular event each semester for students. It is performed by A Madhouse Theatre Company, consisting of three transplanted Britishers: Mike Kelly, Matt Devere, Andrew Hefler.
Three transplanted Britishers
Nineteen McDaniel Students and our Visiting Professor, Linda Van Hart saw the performance recently and enjoyed the zany humor. The tickets – as usual – were subsidized by the Students Activity Fee.
A comment on the play by Mary-Kate Klocko from Maryland:
Recently students had an opportunity to attend a performance of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" at the Hungarian National Theatre. The theatre has beautiful architecture and is lit up very nicely at night. It has a curved window in the front of the building that looks out onto the Danube and the Buda hills.
The comedy attempts to put on all 37 of Shakespeare' s plays in less than two hours. The play is performed by only three actors that act as all the characters in each story. It was a fast paced and energetic show that kept the audience laughing the whole time.
